MAGLEV sends its greetings on the road in a post-apocalyptic thriller

Fans who love dystopian or post-apocalyptic tales will want to get their hands on Greetings from Maglev!. Greetings from the Maglev! is a three-volume graphic novel saga, written by Mark Espinosa and illustrated by Adam Cahoon, set in a dystopian new vision of America.

Invader Comics’ publisher Mike Perkins says Greetings from the Maglev! joins the “endless fascination [people have] with stories from the road. It provides a fertile, and uniquely American, setting for a variety of tales.” The team at Invader Comics was “blown away by the world Adam [Cahoon] and Mark [Espinosa] had created–and Cahoon’s unique art style brought it ot life in a way that didn’t look like anything else on the shelves. We’re committed to bringing fresh concepts and voices to readers, while continuing our invasion of their hearts and bookshelves.”

The first volume of Greetings from the Maglev! debuted last year and a select number of preview pages from Vol. 1 can be viewed below:

Greetings from the Maglev! is described as a “Mad Max meets Snowpiercer” dystopian tale where a superhighway keeps the nation moving, but for a price. With gas being non-existent, the nation’s corporations unite and create the Maglev, a solar-powered superhighway that uses magnetic railways. However, the Maglev can only be used by the rich and those who hijack their way in.

A synopsis can be read below:

Chris Miles was one of the Highwaymen – a privatized police force used to patrol and protect the Maglev – and this was meant to be her last assignment. All she had to do was babysit the son of the Maglev’s founder, Victor Heines, on a ‘humanitarian’ mission across the legendary roadway. Everything seemed to be going well, but when Miles refused to play by their rules, she found herself locked away for a crime she didn’t commit. Now, she’ll have to find a way to break out of one of the world’s most advanced super-prisons and make her way back across the country atop the dangerous Maglev she swore to protect. Good thing revenge is a powerful motivator.

The second volume launched on Kickstarter on Sept. 2. Those who wish to pledge their support can do so on Kickstarter.
