MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Macon man for his involvement in 2 separate death investigations.
In a release, they announced on Friday that 24-year-old Dequavia Pollard had been charged in connection with a January case on Triple Hill Drive, as well as one that happened on Woodward Avenue in August of 2023.
They said that he was charged with murder and 6 cases of aggravated assault for the Woodward Avenue shooting, which led to the death of 38-year-old Calvin Thomas Hugley Jr.
The shooting happened back in August of 2023.

Three others were wounded in the shooting.
Back then, reports said that a large gathering of people were at 834 Woodard Avenue, which was allegedly a “bootleg” where alcohol was being illegally sold.
The reports said several people had a disagreement and gunfire was exchanged.
Two women and one man were sent to the hospital for treatment for non-life- threatening injuries.
In addition to the Woodward shooting, Pollard was also charged with murder and criminal street gang activity for a death investigation that took place in January of this year.
Deputies say it happened on the the 1000 block of Triple Hill Drive, where 42-year-old Clifford Tyrone Browner was shot and died.

Along with Pollard, the sheriff’s office also arrested 25-year-old Amore Calhoun for his connection to the case.
They say Pollard and Calhoun were taken into custody without incident, and were taken to the Bibb County Jail.
