A photo from Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice 2 has leaked online and it offers us our first look at Michael Keaton back in action as The Ghost with the Most!
The photo seems to have been cropped from a shot taken from a set monitor. It shows Keaton as Betelgeuse injecting someone in the neck with truth serum. That someone might be Justin Theroux’s character. As you will see, Keaton’s character hasn’t changed at all.
When previously talking about making the movie, Keaton said: “Beetlejuice is the most f*ckin’ fun you can have working, It’s so fun, it’s so great. And you know what it is? We’re doing it exactly like we did the first movie … There’s a woman in the great waiting room for the afterlife literally with a fishing line – I want people to know this because I love it – tugging on the tail of a cat to make it move.”
The film’s cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos also offered some insight on the story saying that the movie will tell a story about family: “At its heart ‘Beetlejuice [2]’ is a story about a family, and now it’s 30 years later and what are the intricacies and the human condition in keeping a family together all that time set in the craziest world possible? That’s why I choose projects. That human connection for me is always at the forefront.”
The movie also stars Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz, Jenna Ortega as her daughter, Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz, and Monica Bellucci (Irreversible, Spectre, The Apartment) as Beetlejuice’s wife in the story. Willem Dafoe is also in the movie and plays a ghoulish law enforcement officer in the Neitherworld.
Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (Wednesday and Smallville) wrote the script along with an earlier draft by Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg. Katzenberg and Grahame-Smith are also producing. Danny Elfman is returning to compose the score.
