Large brush fire forces evacuations | Local News

ROCKPORT, Texas — A large brush fire is prompting residents to evacuate Enchanted Oaks RV Park and Kluge Trails, with zero percent containment as of approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The fire has spread westward toward the RV park and is advancing toward the northwest region near 18th Street. The fire has already crossed Highway 35.

Firefighters and multiple emergency crews along the coast are assisting the Aransas County Emergency Operations Center in suppressing the fire.

Residents are advised to follow evacuation instructions immediately and stay clear of the fire zone. Evacuees are being relocated to the Fulton Convention Center, 402 N. Fulton Beach Rd. Anyone needing assistance can contact the Aransas County Emergency Management at 361-729-2222 or your local emergency management services.
