Lala Kent shared her concerns for her daughter Ocean after revealing her new pregnancy via intrauterine insemination. The 33-year-old also shared who she’ll raise the baby with.
Lala is in a custody battle with Ocean’s father Randall Emmett. In the past, she’s spoken out about the difficulties of now having her three-year-old full-time.
In an Amazon Live session, Lala recalled telling Ocean about the pregnancy.
“Kid’s a genius, you guys. She understands everything, which is a blessing and a curse,” she joked.
Lala shared she’s worried that Ocean will be confused about why her sibling is staying with Lala when Ocean goes to “the other house.”
“There is gonna be a new baby in the home, which she’s going to love,” Lala shared. “But I also think she’s going to be confused when she has to go to the other house. And this baby gets to stay with mom all the time.”
“She just seems like the type of kid who’s very curious and has a lot of questions, so I’m gonna shower her with a lot of love,” added the star. She’s telling Ocean that the new family member will be “her baby too” so the toddler will never feel as if she’s getting “replaced.”
“The amount of love I have for Ocean, I’m like, ‘How could I possibly love anybody or anything more than I love Ocean Kent?’” she asked. “I remember giving birth to Ocean and being like ‘Whoa, I don’t even know how to process this kind of love.”
The star also addressed who she’ll raise the baby with.
“My mom is a tremendous help,” she explained, via E! News. “And she helps co-parent… I always say I’m raising my daughter Ocean, and I’ll be raising this new baby with my mom.”
But Lala also said she has other people for support.
“I have a pod around me,” she expressed. “I say we’re like a pod of orcas. No one ever leaves the pod. We just keep adding to it.”
Though she thinks some people might not view the dynamic as “normal,” she’s glad that no father will be involved.
“The best part about my baby daddy is that he does not exist,” said Lala. “I have been pretty open about wanting to really have full control of—I guess not my child, but having them around me all the time.”
“The word ‘dad’ is an honor and a privilege, and that word is not just something that should be handed out,” she added. “I went through a really hard time with my past and just with Ocean, and I will say, my heart will always be up for grabs … I believe in love. I know that I will find love again, but for me, my child will never be up for grabs again.”
