Lady London has delivered a scathing roast of what women in mainstream Hip Hop have to go through in a new freestyle.
The underground legend stopped by The Come Up Show with Cosmic Kev on Wednesday (April 10), where, over the beat of Aaliyah‘s “Are You That Somebody,” she shared her thoughts about how low the bar now seems to be for women to attain success.
Throughout the freestyle — which includes a beat switch to JAY-Z‘s “I Just Wanna Love U (Give It 2 Me)” — Lady London seems to throw shots at Nicki Minaj specifically, with lines like “You might want to watch your mouth, or watch your spouse” and “empty is the head that wears the crown.”
At one point, she even spits, “I’m not the type to hit feet when I’m targeting chests,” appearing to refer to Nicki’s diss track “Big Foot.
While Lady London isn’t afraid to share her thoughts on some of her peers in Hip Hop, she recently shared that there’s one legend that could get her to retire from the game altogether.
On a new episode of the HipHopDX show The Bar Code published on February 29, the Bronx native revealed her biggest dream feature would be none other than JAY-Z.
“Jay is my ultimate dream feature,” she said. “I feel like I would just put my jersey in the rafters after that. Like if I get a JAY-Z feature and get him to show for the video somehow, I don’t even wanna rap no more. That’s it.”
Lady London has already garnered praise from legendary figures in the game including Big Daddy Kane, who was quite impressed with her bars on Red Bull’s 60 Second Freestyle series in November.

Reposting the video to Instagram, Kane wrote: “Lyric Lovers, first listen to the Barz. Then listen again to the flow changes. We’ll wait until next week to discuss that Saturn line. @ladylondon #redbullsixtysecondsolo #twerkfreebarz”
“This gave me Ladybug Mecca vibes and cadence [fire emoji],” wrote one fan in the comment section. “Lady London is the absolute truth. Bars, cadence, tone. She took her time, but I promise she’s about to be in the top spots conversation,” penned another.
