Kyle Richards‘ relationship with Morgan Wade was a hot topic on Wednesday night’s premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, with the mother of four admitting that speculation surrounding their friendship led her to question her sexuality.
Following the episode, which saw Kyle, 55, opening up to her castmates, including Garcelle Beauvais, 57, a number of the women shared their thoughts on Kyle and Morgan, 29. Garcelle questioned Kyle’s behavior amid the romance rumors, and Sutton Stracke, 53, accused Kyle of trying to hook up with Kevin Costner, 69.
“[Kyle] was in Aspen, and Kevin Costner was there, and she was trying to hook up with Kevin Costner,” Sutton revealed on the November 19 episode of the RHOBH: After Show. “I don’t think that Morgan is the end all, be all because she really was, I was like, ‘Wait a minute. Hang on. It’s not all about Morgan, there’s some Kevin Costner mixed in there.’”
Looking back at the moment that Kyle spoke of Morgan without mentioning her by name, Garcelle said she was surprised Kyle was open to the discussion.
“I was shocked that she was sharing something so personal with me. In one way I felt like, ‘Oh wow, I must be in her inner circle that she’s sharing this with me,’ and on the other end of it, I thought, ‘Is she being honest?’” Garcelle admitted. “I think Kyle was, at the time, still trying to figure out her life.”
According to series “friend” Jennifer Tilly, 66, she felt that Kyle may have been a bit coy with her castmates because she didn’t want to add another factor into her already complicated situation with estranged husband Mauricio Umansky, 54.
“When you’re going through a divorce and there’s children involved and everything, I think you don’t want to throw something else in the middle,” she reasoned. “I think she’s a little bit confused about which way to go next.”
But Garcelle didn’t agree, saying that if that were the case, Kyle “shouldn’t have done a music video” with Morgan.
“She shouldn’t be at the airport, she shouldn’t be at the concert,” she continued.
“But it’s okay for him to spray girls’ tits with champagne?” argued Sutton.
Reflecting on the start of the romance rumors involving Kyle and Morgan in early 2023, around the time she and Mauricio split, Garcelle said she felt that Morgan entered Kyle’s life at a time when she needed a safe place of friendship.
“I don’t know if Kyle was thinking that Morgan was going to be the kind of friend you’re attracted to, but I think it happens,” she noted.
During her own segment of the RHOBH: After Show, Kyle confirmed that after avoiding saying Morgan’s name on the premiere episode, she was still refusing to call her out by name.
“I’m still not using her name. I think that even though there were rumors out there — some were true, some were not true — I addressed it like I did at the reunion. So I was trying to be as honest as I could be this season while also respecting people that are not part of this, so it’s difficult,” she explained.
