Korus and mau5trap Break New Ground With First-Ever AI-Powered Mixtape Contest

Korus, a music creation platform from deadmau5 and Richie Hawtin’s Pixelynx, is making the first AI-powered mixtape an art of the possible.

In a groundbreaking move, the startup has announced an innovative contest that’s set to transform how fans interact with music. The project, a first-of-its-kind in the red-hot intersection of electronic music and AI, allows fans to harness a pre-selected set of mau5trap stems to create original remixes and songs—and possibly secure an official release.

The mau5trap team says they’ll select their favorite submissions for inclusion on an official compilation release in 2024. As part of its feature set, Korus includes AI companions, or “KORS,” friendly, adaptable robots that users can train to generate new music in part through a series of selections and text-based commands.

The deadline for submission into the Korus x mau5trap mixtape contest is January 5th, 2024. To participate, register for Korus and submit your creation to Pixelynx’s official Discord channel.
