Buckingham Palace Provides Positive Update on King Charles III’s Cancer Treatments
King Charles III is showing his support on World Cancer Day.
Amid the British monarch’s ongoing cancer battle, he and Queen Camilla shared a message of encouragement for others struggling with the disease.
“This World Cancer Day, we are sending love to all those navigating a cancer diagnosis,” the official Royal Family account wrote in a Feb. 4 post on X (formerly Twitter), “as well as the incredible doctors, nurses, charities and families who work tirelessly to support them.”
The message, which also directs followers to three different cancer support and research centers, comes one year after Buckingham Palace announced the monarch’s diagnosis.
“During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted,” the Feb. 2024 statement read. “Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer. His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.”
