Kim Petras pulls out of summer festival shows due to health issues

Singer Kim Petras has shared the disappointing news with fans that she will not be able to perform her scheduled shows at 2024’s summer festivals.

Posting a message to her Instagram Story, the Coconuts singer wrote to her fans, ”My buns, I’m devastated to be writing this but I’m going through some health issues and under medical advice I have had to make the hard decision to not perform at festivals this summer.”

“I love u so much and I’ll make it up to you and be back better than ever very soon,” she concluded her statement.

The Grammy Award winner was set to perform at Primavera Sound Festival in Spain on May 29, Mighty Hoopla in the United Kingdom on June 1, Primavera Sound Porto in Portugal on June 6, LadyLand in New York City on June 28 and Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle in July.

She most recently performed on stage with Madonna at the singer’s Celebration Tour stop at the Florida’s Kaseya Centre on April 9, as well as at Oasis Wynwood in Miami on April 12.

The singer has previously mentioned going to therapy after the success of Unholy, a collaboration with UK musician Sam Smith.

The success of the song increased media attention on her and forced her to travel more for work.

“It felt like a huge breakthrough, as it shifted the music industry’s perception of me and what I could do,” Petras said in an interview with Cosmopolitan.

“Therapy was necessary for me after having a huge song, to learn how to shut everything off,” she said.

“I had a therapist in my teen years and stopped when things got busy. But I missed having someone to let everything out to. I recommend therapy to everyone; it’s an essential tool … The music industry can get very hectic.”
