It was recently announced that Prey director Dan Trachtenberg is developing a new standalone Predator movie titled Badlands. Now The Mandalorian and Battlestar Galactica star Katee Sackhoff wants in on the film!
The fan-favorite actress took to X to share a new report on the movie, which read, “BADLANDS will be a Predator film set in the future with a female lead.” Sackhoff included the following caption with the post:
“Please oh please let it be me!!! I feel uniquely qualified to kick The Predators butt 😱❤️”
Yeah, I’d say that she most definitely is uniquely qualified to be in a Predator film like this. She really would be great in this kind of role! She’s appeared in her fair share of sci-fi projects over the years and her fan base would love to see her in a Predator movie.
But, we have no idea what Trachtenberg’s vision for the movie is or the lead character. She may not fit any of the characters he’s created for this movie.
The filmmaker will write and direct the movie and it will shoot later this year. Badlands is a high priority for the 20th Century Studios and it’s explained that Trachtenberg is already meeting with talent for the lead role.
Badlands is not a sequel to Prey. That movie is still in the works and the film’s star Amber Midthunder is expected to return, but no talent is officially attached to the sequel yet.
