Good afternoon! Storm damage seems significant just north of Three Rivers and east of Marcellus. This is part of the path where Tornado Warnings were in place earlier this morning. We had 6 Tornado Warnings in all, and fortunately, our severe weather threat is behind us. Still, some heavy downpours and brief lightning will be possible through 3 p.m. The National Weather Service in northern Indiana is busy dealing with severe weather farther east this afternoon and evening, but they will likely be sending storm survey crews to either Cass or St. Joe counties, hopefully both, sometime tomorrow. Skies are sunny in northern Lower and parts of Mid-Michigan, and that clearing line is slowly working southward. A little sun pre-sunset, especially the farther north you go, is reasonable.

Tonight is the beginning of a several day stretch where keeping your windows open at night is an easy option. With clearing skies and a new airmass, we’re poised to begin Wednesday in the upper 50s. Some version of the upper 70s to lower 80s is the going theme Wednesday afternoon through Friday. Your weekend, however, looks a bit cooler. We have a pattern from Friday through Monday that is befitting of diurnal or spotty, afternoon showers. They are added to your forecast with a confidence of 20-30% during this timeframe. Rip currents are plausible at the beaches in Berrien county due to stiffening, east and northeasterly winds. A Beach Hazards statement is in effect through 8 p.m.

If you’re cleaning up storm damage, we’re thinking about you. Chief Meteorologist Keith Thompson will be a great watch, as always, at 5!
