Mother’s Day was on Sunday here in the US. Did you call your mom??? Be honest! Well, JB was all about the moms, getting particularly active over on Instagram all day. In fact, he was so active that he’s now got fans questioning some of his more, uh, eye-catching posts…

Let’s start here: early in the day on Sunday, the Baby singer posted this message to his Stories (below):
“Good luck today for anyone navigating Mother’s Day”
Whoa! “Navigating”? Why does he make it sounds like such a trial? That’s a super curious post considering his wife Hailey Bieber was celebrating her FIRST Mother’s Day as a momma herself after giving birth less than a year ago to the couple’s son, Jack Blues Bieber.
But then it got even worse!! The 31-year-old singer later posted (and very quickly deleted) this second jaw-dropping message to Insta (below):
“Love u moms but mothers day sucks ass”
Ummm…
Even though the post was quickly taken down and is no longer visible on the Canadian’s IG profile, fans had a field day about it over on X (Twitter). There, one user called out Justin’s post as being a “vile” message to send on what should have been Hailey’s special day:
“Justin Bieber posting ‘mother’s day sucks ass’ as his wife celebrates her first one is so… vile to me.”
Others quickly jumped in, too. Here are just a few of the responses criticizing the Biebs for his Mother’s Day missives:
“Sad to say, very on brand for him smh.”
“I’m not surprised he’s not taking to the family life like everyone was so excited about when they first shared the news. He’s been in dire need of therapy, not a baby”
“That’s disrespectful to both his mother and wife. But he’s been a bit unhinged all along so…”
“He literally hates her cause wtf.”
“ever since he became a father he’s been tripping”
“Man is going through something to be externalizing all of this. Not excusing his behavior but man the cruelty he is showing his wife is so sad”
However…!
Other fans were equally quick to chime in with theories that Hailey might not be the focus of that statement at all!! Rather, they hypothesized that Justin’s uneasiness with Mother’s Day could have to do with his own mom, Pattie Mallette:
“Justin has a complicated relationship with Mother’s Day as do a lot of people. He loves Hailey — that wasn’t directed towards her”
“He’s right tho like Mother’s Day as a concept kinda sucks on a societal scale but I love my mom too”
“it has nothing to do with his wife tho. it’s literally everything to do with his mom.”
Might not be a bad theory. After all, certain holidays can be very difficult for certain people for a VARIETY of reasons totally unrelated to their relationships with the moms in their lives!
But at the end of the day, Justin did say he was on board with “moms” — if not their day. And he proved it!
The Sorry singer specifically posted twice about Hailey in celebrating Mother’s Day on Sunday, too! The first one included an adorable snap of Hailey offering up a kiss to Jack Blues’ cute little foot:

And he posted on his main grid with a celebratory statement laying out his appreciation for Hailey (below):

Cute!! And also, if he wasn’t still super into his wife, would he really post her twice like that?? Seems to us he’s happy to have a gal watching hockey with him on Mother’s Day! LOLz!

Which, again, makes us wonder — if those theories from over on X are really true, why would he go to all that posting trouble?!
What if maybe he just feels like Mother’s Day is a Hallmark holiday that has become a consumer-focused event meant for nothing more than to sell greeting cards and stuff. Maybe that’s what he’s frustrated about? We mean, he is a dad now, grousing about all the darn holidays is a time honored tradition, right?
Point is, we just don’t know. And it sure seems like he showed plenty of love to his wife on socials for her big day!
