Julie Dove To Host ‘The Significant Life Of Angela Stevens’ Podcast

EXCLUSIVE: Julie Dove, who appears in Peacock’s Days of Our Lives, is heading back to her hometown to host a true-crime podcast.

Dove is hosting True Texas Crime: The Significant Life of Angela Stevens, which explores the murder of a 16-year-old girl in Princeton, Texas, the small town where Dove grew up.

In 1988, Stevens was beaten, murdered, and left in an empty field by three local young men.

The series, which launches on July 18, will aim to shine a light on her story by exploring themes of justice, small towns protecting their own, and the lasting impact of violence against women. It will look at the effect it had on her family, friends, and the entire community.

Dove will unravel the complexities surround Stevens’ life and impact of her death on her friends and family. It aims to challenge  conventional narratives about female victims, aiming to spark conversations and inspire change in how society views and responds to acts of violence against women.

This comes as Dove returns to Days of Our Lives for a summer arc, where he plays true crime-obsessed Connie. Dove was a big fan of the soap and landed a role on the show in 2021 alongside Billy Flynn’s Chad and Marci Miller’s Abigail, but her scenes to get cut. After discovering her scenes were cut, head writer Ron Carlivati got involved and got the show post her scenes online before inviting her back for more episodes.

In addition her role on the daytime soap, Dove is known for Adult Swim’s Birdgirl and has appeared in Angie Tribeca, Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan, Insatiable, The Office and Happy Endings.

“I want to give Angela’s family a voice they felt denied during the aftermath of her death and trial,” said Dove. “I hope they can move closer to feelings of healing and closure by hearing stories from Angela’s friends and teachers.”
