Jennifer Lawrence’s life in pictures: from The Hunger Games to her acting break

In 2015, she starred in the biopic Joy and received great reviews for her performance, which earned her another Golden Globe, though the film itself wasn’t as big of a success as anticipated.

In 2016, she played Mystique for the third time in X-Men: Apocalypse, which was considered a flop, and followed it up with Passengers, where she co-starred with Chris Pratt.

(She also had to debunk rumours that they had an affair while filming.)

Years later, she would admit that she regretted doing the film, as she only signed on because it was the kind of big-budget project she thought fans expected from her.

“I was like, ‘Oh no, you guys are here because I’m here, and I’m here because you’re here. Wait, who decided that this was a good movie?'” she told The New York Times.

“Adele told me not to do it! She was like, ‘I feel like space movies are the new vampire movies.’ I should have listened to her.”
