Jeff Foskett death: The Beach Boys star Jeff Foskett dies age 67

The Beach Boys star Jeff Foskett has died at the age of 67, following a battle with anaplastic thyroid cancer.

Foskett’s death was announced by his family on Thursday, with a statement released on his Instagram page.

They wrote in the statement: “There was truly no one like him and there will never be.”

“We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support received from Jeff’s beloved friends and fans,” they said.

“We love reading about every show, every tour memory and every laugh he provided to the world. We are deeply touched knowing Jeff has played such a pivotal role in so many of your lives, as he did ours.”

They added in part of the statement that he will be “dearly missed,” saying: ”He was so special and we are grateful that the world got to experience him.”

“No better way to say it other than ‘Adios’.”

In March Foskett, who had been a musician for the iconic band since the ’80s, rang the bell at a cancer centre after completing his second round of radiation.

He shared an Instagram video and wrote: ”Today I Celebrate Four Years at MD Anderson Cancer Center. The BEST Four Years Of My Life.”

“These people have given me what No One Else On Earth Could Have… LIFE.”

He added: “Some of the past four years has been trying (I guess that’s why it’s called a Clinical Trial). It tries your Body, Mind and Spirit but it has left me THRIVING and most importantly able to meet my Grandson Domenic.”

“I don’t often post on social but I thought this milestone was significant.”

According to People, Foskett battled anaplastic thyroid cancer.

The Cleveland Clinic says anaplastic thyroid cancer is “a rare and very aggressive form of thyroid cancer”.

Hailing from California, Foskett became a musician for The Beach Boys in the ’80s and also had a successful solo career.

He announced his cancer diagnosis in 2019.

Actor John Stamos shared a tribute to Foskett on Instagram and said that he’s “lost more than a friend; I lost a part of my soul” in a heartbreaking post.
