Two years after publicly announcing their separation, Lisa Bonet has filed for divorce from Jason Momoa

On January 5, Monet filed a petition for dissolution of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason, according to court documents seen by US media outlets including People.

The separation date listed was October 7, 2020.

The couple married five years ago in October 2017 and had been dating for more than a decade prior to tying the knot. 

They share two children, 16-year-old daughter Lola and 15-year-old son Nakoa-Wolf.

Bonet also shares daughter, actor Zoë Kravitz, with her ex-husband Lenny Kravitz, to whom she was married from 1987 to 1993.

Bonet, 56, has requested joint legal and physical custody of both Lola and Nakoa-Wolf, however has not asked for any spousal support. 

According to the separation documents, the duo’s property and assets have been “confirmed and agreed between the parties” prior to official divorce documents being filed. 

The news of the couples divorce comes two years after Monet and Momoa, 44, announced their separation.

Reality star couple announce divorce after four years

The news was shared via a joint statement to Momoa’s Instagram page, however it has since been deleted. 

“We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times,” the former couple wrote. “A revolution is unfolding and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring.

“And so, we share our Family news that we are parting ways in marriage.”

They continued on, explaining that they were sharing the statement “not because we think it’s newsworthy but so that as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty.”

“The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived. We free each other to be who we are learning to become.

“Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life our children. Teaching our children what’s possible. Living the Prayer. May Love Prevail.”
