James Kottak death: Scorpions and Kingdom Come rocker dies aged 61

Rocker and Scorpions star James Kottak has died, the band has confirmed.

Kottak, who hailed from Kentucky, died at the age of 61.

The band shared a tribute post to Kottak on Facebook, and called him a “wonderful human being, a great musician”.

“Very sad news… our dear friend and Drummer for 20 years James Kottak has passed at the age of 61… James was a wonderful human being, a great musician and loving family man…,” they wrote in their post.

They added: “He was our “Brother from another Mother” and will be truly missed… Rock’n Roll Forever. RIP. James Klaus, Rudolf, Matthias, Pawel and Mikkey.”

A cause of death is not yet known.

His daughter Tobi told TMZ her father died on Tuesday in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was apart of the German band from 1996 to 2016.

He also was a member of the band Kingdom Come.

The rocker was married to Tommy Lee’s sister Athena for four years until 2010.

He reportedly struggled with alcohol addiction over the years.

Scorpians are known for hits including Still Loving You and Wind of Change.
