James Gunn is currently deep in development on Superman: Legacy for DC Studios and he’s also written Creature Commandos, Peacemaker Season 2, and more. The filmmaker has no plans for slowing down and he confirmed his plans to continue to write and direct film and TV projects for the DCU.
Gunn was asked on social media if he knows what DCU project he’ll be writing next now that he’s finished with Peacemaker Season 2. He responded, saying:
“I won’t be able to write anything for a while due to my directing and producing schedules. Well until I wake up with an idea at 3 am and can’t help myself.”
He was then asked if plans to continue writing and directing DCU projects in the future, and Gunn replied: “That’s what I’m here for.”
I imagine that Gunn won’t personally start on anything new until after he’s finished shooting Superman: Legacy, but the guy seems to have the ability to juggle multiple projects at once, so who knows!? Regardless, it will be interesting to see what the next DC project is that he commits himself to.
