The Jackson 5 Christmas Album jumps 11-9 on the list dated Jan. 6, which covers activity for the tracking week of Dec. 22 -28. In the tracking period, the holiday set earned 27,000 equivalent album units, according to Luminate, a 27% increase compared with the previous week.
Released in 1970, The Jackson 5 Christmas Album wrapped a stellar year for The Jackson 5 – comprised of brothers Jermaine, Jackie, Marlon, Michael and Tito. The group captured four Hot 100 No. 1 hits that year – “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” “The Love You Save” and “I’ll Be There” – and became the first act to have its first four Hot 100 hits all reach the top slot.
The main hit from The Jackson 5 Christmas Album is the group’s rendition of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town,” which registered 17.9 million official U.S. streams in the week ending Dec. 28, up 21% from the prior week. The sum pushes the track 29-27 on the all-genre Streaming Songs chart, tying its 2022 showing for its highest rank. In addition, the streaming haul helps “Santa Claus” jingle 35-30 on the newest Billboard Hot 100 chart for a new peak.
While “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” has reached the Hot 100 each year since the 2020 holiday season, this year sparks a second Jackson holiday hit on the flagship chart. “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus” debuts at No. 43, fueled by its 14.1 million official U.S. streams in the tracking week, and opens at No. 39 on Streaming Songs.
With The Jackson 5 Christmas Album, the siblings join forces for a 15th top 10 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart (comprising work released as either The Jackson 5 or The Jacksons).
