Jackie ‘O’ Henderson updates listeners after rushed to hospital mid-show

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has shared an update with The Kyle & Jackie O Show listeners this morning after being rushed to hospital mid-show yesterday.

The 48-year-old radio star experienced “shooting pains down her left arm” and around her chest – often symptoms of a heart attack – while on-air, spurring co-host Kyle Sandilands to send her home.

But Henderson, who ended up being driven to the hospital by staffer Pete Deppeler – known as Intern Pete to listeners – was back in the saddle for this morning’s show.

“Look who’s back from her death bed. How dramatic,” Sandilands said at the start of this morning’s show, prompting Henderson to explain what happened after she left the studio yesterday morning.

“I just got a bunch of tests done, I was there all day, and they just have to rule out everything,” Henderson said, noting she is “fine” and had an electrocardiogram (ECG) done as well as blood tests and her lungs checked.

Henderson says later on in the afternoon, while she was waiting to get a CT scan, a man who looked to be in his 30s was wheeled out into the communal area she was in – and “locked eyes” with her, absolutely stumped.

“He looked at me as if, ‘Am I hallucinating? Is that…?’,” Henderson recalled.

“The look on his face was just, ‘I am tripping right now, surely…'”

He then looked at another man who was also waiting in the room with himself and Henderson, before turning back to Henderson and asking, “Is that [Sandilands]?”

”I looked at the man and he actually looked like you,” Henderson laughed, telling her co-host. “This poor guy is thinking, ‘What happened on the show today?'”
