Jack Whitehall says he was ‘dropped’ by Prince Harry after royal met Meghan Markle

British comedian Jack Whitehall has revealed the status of his friendship with Prince Harry, claiming he was “dropped” by the royal.

The Bad Education actor spoke to Nova 100’s Jase & Lauren while in Melbourne, saying the pair had enjoyed nights out together in London in the royal’s “pre-Meghan” days but things soured after.

“Yeah I was dropped,” Whitehall told co-hosts Jason “Jase” Hawkins and Lauren Phillips.

“I was quite good friends with Harry back in the day, pre-Meghan, when he was a tearaway,” Whitehall said when asked about his connection to the British royal family.

Going off his wording, Phillips asked for clarification.

“Wait did he drop you when he was with Megan? Is that true that he dropped his mates?” she asked the comedian.

“Yeah. I mean, I wasn’t, I wouldn’t say it part of the inner circle, to go back to a Vegas analogy,” Whitehall said with a laugh.

“But no, I had a few nights out with him when he was quite fun.”

The stand-up comic and Hollywood star admitted they definitely had fun together back in the day but he’s “retired from that as well” now he’s a dad.

Whitehall welcomed daughter Elsie with his model girlfriend Roxy Horner, who have both joined him in Australia, along with his parents Michael and Hilary Whitehall.

Jack gained a whole new legion of fans for his comedic docuseries Travels with My Father, as he took Michael on adventures in far-flung destinations.

Now the father-son duo are so well loved, the comedian’s current tour around Australia is with his dad.

“Been having such an amazing time on tour in Australia,” Jack wrote alongside a series of photos from Sydney.

“From some lovely family time to arsing around in front of an arena full of rowdy Aussies with my parents. [One] family member may have been bullied into doing a ‘shoey’ onstage.”

After he finishes up his tour in Australia and returns back to the UK, Jack will return as host of the BRIT Awards for the fifth time, after a three-year absence.

“I don’t think they’re performing but I’m certain there will be a tribute to Liam, he was a big part of that show (BRIT Awards),” he told hosts Fifi Box, Brendan Fevola and Nick Cody.

The comedian recalled his memories of the singer, who died in Buenos Aires last year.

“He was always so game and up for it. We had a really fun time with him there. They were always so up for a laugh… love the boys.”
