Interview with Vic Lodato, Author of Vendetta

What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write Vendetta?

I love gangster films and tv, and when I read the story about New York’s first mafia family I felt like it was a story that people would love to read and that I’d love to write.

If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of Vendetta, what would they be?

“Murder Inc” by Bruce Springsteen (also my walkout song for my fight at Rough and Rowdy- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AguXM3QF14s&t=171s)

What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?

Historical Fiction.

What books are on your TBR pile right now?

The Last King of California by Jordan Harper.

What scene in your book was your favorite to write?

The action scenes. The street fights in the Garment District are all based off newspaper articles written at the time covering the gang war.

Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)

I write at the kitchen table every morning after taking my dog for a long walk.

Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?

Audacity, audacity, always audacity!

If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?

To leave a 5 star review! No kidding… I’d hope they remember feeling excited by the story and characters.
