What’s the story behind the story? What inspired you to write The Phantom Enforcer?
I wanted to create a fantasy book series that highlights realistic first responder duties and challenges. I am glad to broaden awareness of the daily lives of frontline workers and the sacrifices they make while also entertaining my readers with a suspenseful adventure story.
If you had to pick theme songs for the main characters of The Phantom Enforcer, what would they be?
Emmy Hernandez (the police officer) is best characterized by Alicia Keys’ Superwoman song.
What’s your favorite genre to read? Is it the same as your favorite genre to write?
Thrillers are my favorite and I am writing a Technothriller novel right now.
What books are on your TBR pile right now?
1984 and A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.
What scene in your book was your favorite to write?
The Chicago Warehouse scene was fun because Noah finally discovers how to control one of the Phantom’s powers and helps his best friend, Danielle.
Do you have any quirky writing habits? (lucky mugs, cats on laps, etc.)
While I write on my dual monitors, I have a laptop next to me running a Birchwood fireplace video from Netflix.
Do you have a motto, quote, or philosophy you live by?
“If you want to succeed, fail twice as much!”
If you could choose one thing for readers to remember after reading your book, what would it be?
Police officers have stressful jobs and we should appreciate everything they do. There are also officers that make mistakes, like regular people. We should appreciate the hidden protection they provide citizens every day.
