The highly anticipated finale of Demon Slayer kicks off in July 2025 with the Infinity Castle Arc film trilogy.
Ahead of the announcement, fans enjoyed a marathon of all four seasons, leading up to the reveal of Infinity Castle Arc: First Movie. Animated by Ufotable, the promotional reel revisited the anime’s journey, from 2019’s Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc, which catapulted the series to international fame, to the 2021 blockbuster Mugen Train Arc. It continued through the Entertainment District Arc (2022) and Swordsmith Village Arc (2023), before concluding with the latest, eight-episode Hashira Training Arc. The reel ended with the reveal that the first film of the trilogy will premiere in Japan on July 18.
To build excitement, Demon Slayer will screen 12 compilation films in Japan between April 4 and July 3. Each film will run for a week in 33 theaters, while a 4K remaster of Mugen Train will play from May 9 to June 12 in 423 theaters. Attendees will also get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming trilogy. The Infinity Castle Arc follows Tanjiro and the Hashira as they wage their final battle against Muzan Kibutsuji and his remaining Twelve Kizuki. The Hashira Training Arc finale saw Tanjiro and his allies being pulled into a portal, forcing them to fight their own battles separately.
Based on Koyoharu Gotouge’s best-selling manga, Demon Slayer follows Tanjiro Kamado, a kind-hearted boy whose world is shattered when demons slaughter his family, leaving only his sister Nezuko—who has been transformed into a demon. To save her, Tanjiro must join the Demon Slayer Corps and gather blood samples from Muzan Kibutsuji’s Twelve Kizuki to develop a cure. Though his empathy often clashes with the battle-hardened Hashira, it also becomes his greatest strength.
Running from February 2016 to May 2020, Demon Slayer has surpassed 150 million copies in circulation as of February 2021. Both the manga and anime have received widespread acclaim, with the series winning Book of the Year at the Da Vinci Annual Book of the Year Awards for two consecutive years and the Japan Cartoonists Association Grand Prize in 2021.
The first Demon Slayer film in the trilogy arrives in Japan on July 18, with international release dates to be announced soon.
