Hozier has postponed some of his US tour dates as he struggles to recover from a recent virus.
The Take Me to Church singer announced the news in an emotional post on social media, telling fans “it breaks my heart to do this”.
The Irish performer, whose real name is Andrew John Hozier-Byrne, is set to bring his Unreal Unearth tour to Australia in early November, after finishing the US leg.

He told fans his decision to postpone the shows was to ensure he could complete the whole tour.
“I want to thank each and every one of you for coming to a show during this run, and in particular those of you who have shown such kind support over the last number of nights while I’ve struggled vocally getting over a recent virus,” he wrote in the statement.
“Although I’ve still really enjoyed getting to connect with you all from the stage, my voice just isn’t getting the chance it needs to recover properly.
“It breaks my heart to do this, but I’m going to have to postpone the next two shows in Billings MT (August 27th), and Casper WY (August 28th) to give my health and vocal chords every chance of recovery for the sake of the rest of the tour.”

The statement also included practical information for fans, an apology and the singer thanked everyone “for your support and understanding”.
It was signed off simply with “Love, Andrew”, which saw one fan express some concerns.
“When he calls himself Andrew to the public u know it’s serious, rest well,” they wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.
Other fans praised the singer for prioritising his health.
