How To Beat Ebina In Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth (Boss Guide)

  • Party Composition To Beat Ebina

Masataka Ebina serves as the final enemy standing against Kazuma Kiryu in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. As the last boss, Ebina is the toughest enemy in the entire game. He can fight solo against a party of four, while other bosses rely on minions and various tricks.

During an earlier chapter, Kiryu will have left Hawaii for Kamurocho, meeting up with some returning characters from Yakuza: Like a Dragon. This results in having access to only four additional teammates: Saeko Mukoda, Tianyou Zhao, Seonhee, and Yu Naba. It is advised that you level them all up to 50 for more power and options.

Party Composition To Beat Ebina

Seonhee as the assassin job is ideal to defeat Ebina in Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth

While you control the Japanese team, Kiryu cannot unlock any remaining new jobs. Instead, you will have to access them with Ichiban before facing off against the final boss, Bryce in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. As for the team setup, Kiryu is always mandatory. Seonhee’s exclusive job with Assassin deals fantastic damage, while the female-only job with Idol is excellent for support. Zhao and Naba are mostly interchangeable.

How To Defeat Ebina

Ebina schemes for the Seiryu clan in Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth

Ebina is powerful and durable, ranking as a level 52 Seiryu Clan Captain. He favors using his fists but will eventually grab a sword part-way through the battle. Your combat tactics should adjust accordingly to survive some of the hardest bosses in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

First Phase

Ebina’s go-to move is Wheel of Samsara, which hits everyone in front of him for sizable damage. He will also use Eternal Torment to hit everyone for moderate damage, but this can be interrupted by a well-timed counter. In this round, Ebina is weak to blade damage, making him susceptible to attacks like Empress Claw, Standstill Stab, and Shadow Dance.

Second Phase

After losing around half of his health, a short cutscene will play of Ebina arming himself with a katana. You will also need to stop him via a quick-time event or possibly suffer extra damage between rounds. Not only do his attacks change, but so does his defense.

Ebina will now be weak to bullet damage. This makes it much easier for Zhao/Naba as a Desperado to deal significant damage from a safe distance. Seonhee can also rely on her ranged attacks, like Gatling Blowgun or Bloodied Blowgun.

While Ebina will take more damage from ranged moves, he can also dish out some of the highest numbers in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Even when fighting from afar, he can rush down the whole team from any distance with Maelstrom of Hate. But keep healing up, and Masataka should soon fall to a hail of bullets, darts, and arrows.
