A brief new promo spot has been released for Madame Web, and it features Dakota Johnson hilariously declaring that you’re going to love Sony’s new Marvel movie, and then adds, “In fact, I think you’re gonna see it twice.”
The promo has been getting some attention online due to the kind of attitude that Johnson brings to it. You’ll see what I mean by that when you watch it. Regardless, the trick is getting audiences to want to see the movie once because it does not look good.
The synopsis for the film reads: “In a switch from the typical genre, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of one of Marvel publishing’s most enigmatic heroines. The suspense-driven thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. Forced to confront revelations about her past, she forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures… if they can all survive a deadly present.”
Madame Web also stars Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), Celeste O’Connor (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Isabela Merced (Transformers: The Last Knight), and Emma Roberts (American Horror Story), along with Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps (The Upshaws), and Adam Scott (Severance).
The film was directed by S.J. Clarkson (Jessica Jones), and it will be released in theaters on February 14th.
