There is one website out there, Giant Freakin’ Robot, which is taking credit for this scoop, but there were others who broke it first, and we backed those claims a week before they came along. People just need to give credit where credit is due.
Regardless, it’s going to be fun to see Cavill in the MCU as Wolverine! What I’m mostly curious about is if this is just going to be a one-and-done cameo, or if he is being set up with a bigger role in the MCU. We’ll just have to wait and see.
What are you thoughts on Cavill taking on the role of a variant Wolverine? What would you like to see from him in the role?
In the film, “After facing some professional setbacks while going through a midlife crisis. Wade Wilson decides to officially retire Deadpool and becomes a used car salesman. But when his friends, family, and the whole world are at stake, Deadpool decides to bring his katanas out of retirement. He recruits an unwilling and wary Wolverine to not only fight for their survival, but ultimately, their legacy.”

The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Emma Corrin as the villain Cassandra Nova, Morena Baccarin and Stefan Kapicic as Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen in an unknown role, and Leslie Uggams as Blind Al. They are joined by Brianna Hildebrand, and Shioli Kutsuna will also return to the franchise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend Yukio. Rob Delaney will return as Peter and Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra in the movie.
Deadpool & Wolverine will hit theaters on July 26th!
