Roaches were found crawling around a Cleveland restaurant this week when an inspector gave it a failing score.
Indigo Café on 1st Street scored a 62.
The inspector said the restaurant lacked managerial control from the findings.
An employee did not wash their hands after handling dirty and clean dishes multiple times.
Chicken wings cooked a week and a half earlier were found in the prep cooler by the inspector.
The roaches were found in the kitchen – including on the main prep line where food is exposed. The inspector spoke about a treatment plan with a licensed professional.
According to the inspector, tongs contaminated by raw chicken were just placed in a container of water with other utensils – causing cross-contamination.
An employee was drinking from an unapproved container and another one was wearing a watch in the food prep area.
The inspector noted there was close to no sanitizer dispensing from the three-compartment sink.
The restaurant was reminded of the food safety training available in Bradley County.
