Hamdi said it best: 2024 is going to be a very good year for UK music.
The dubstep virtuoso has dropped a hotly anticipated remix package for his hit single, “Counting.” Out now on Zeds Dead’s Deadbeats, the bundle is loaded with talented producers, all of whom delivered and did the track justice.
Taiki Nulight’s remix had been one of the most coveted releases so far in 2024, especially after its feature in Skrillex and Skin On Skin’s recent Rinse FM set. Forgoing his typical UK garage sound, Nulight instead produced a wobbly deep dubstep stunner with a thick low end.
Elsewhere, red-hot producer Sammy Virji impresses by slowing down “Counting” into a bouncing UK garage tune while Simula flexes his formidable sound design to transform the song into a drum & bass heater. P Money’s remix is reminiscent of his “Skanka” vocal dub, the UK grime artist laying his bars over Hamdi’s original with notable changes in the production to accommodate his verses.
