Ghostface Killah Taps Kanye West, Nas & More For ‘Set The Tone’

Ghostface Killah has recruited an all-star lineup of guests for his upcoming solo album Set the Tone.

The Wu-Tang Clan legend shared more details about the project on Tuesday (May 7), including its release date, cover art and tracklist.

Some of the big names on the 15-track album include Kanye West, Nas, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Jim Jones, Remy Ma, Ja Rule, Sheek Louch and AZ.

Fans can also expect cameos from fellow Wu-Tang cohorts Method Man and Raekwon.

“Thank you to everyone who helped put this project together and every talented artist that jump in the fire with me !!” Tony Starks wrote on Instagram.

Set the Tone is set to be released on Friday (May 10) through Nas’ Mass Appeal Records. Check out the artwork and full tracklist below.

“HOLD TIGHT THIS ALBUM HAS FIRE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE,” he wrote on Instagram, fueling excitement for the project.

Set the Tone is the veteran MC’s 12th solo album and first since 2019’s Ghostface Killahs, though he has stayed busy contributing features to songs by the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Westside Gunn and Dave East in the years since.

Ghostface had previously been teasing Supreme Clientele 2 — the long-awaited sequel to his 2000 opus — and said it would be executive produced by Kanye West and Mike Dean.

Ghostface Killah Doesn’t Perform One Of His Biggest Hits: ‘That Record Brings Pain’

“SUPREME CLIENTELE 2 IS EXECUTIVE PRODUCED BY: KANYE WEST, MIKE DEAN & PRODUCERPLUGUNI.COM. RELEASE DATE: FEB 2022,” he announced during a Q&A with fans on Reddit back in 2021.

That date obviously came and went without the album, and it remains to be seen if the Kanye feature on Set the Tone is from the sessions for Supreme Clientele 2.

The 53-year-old is also set to release his memoir later this month. Titled Rise of a Killah, the book is described as a “visual record and a real-feel narrative of a performer’s life.”
