Having risen as a grassroots star by opening up for Fairly Lights at Crimson Rocks again in 2017, Day by day Bread is now surging to the forefront of the digital music panorama. Out now by way of Philos Data, Invisible Cinema, his eighth full-length studio album, is a 13-track assortment that masterfully showcases his tried-and-true manufacturing skillset.
Centered across the two recurring themes of “cinema” and the “moon,” the album is a shocking illustration of the Atlanta-based producer’s distinctive visible aesthetic and narrative. His penchant for experimentation is heard all through as he toasts up a sonic palette of funk and classic trip-hop, producing soulful melodies, gritty hip-hop sampling and glitchy bass.

Invisible Cinema illustrates a vivid image of Day by day Bread’s signature fashion. After kicking the album off with its old-school hip-hop opener, “Blindfold Your self” (with Late Evening Radio) kicks issues off, he spans the lunar phases of the moon via warping bass within the standout “Again To The Moon.” One other spotlight comes towards the top, with the cathartic, funky grooves and fluttering arpeggios of “Look Up At The Stars.”
