Director Ivan Reitman’s classic 1984 Ghostbusters is the subject of a recently released Pitch Meeting video that amusingly envisions the pitch meeting that led to the movie getting made. Ghostbusters is one of my favorite comedies of all time and I’m excited for the upcoming sequel Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which is the inspiration behind this new Pitch Meeting video.
The video pokes fun at the original film and addresses the hard-hitting questions. The video came with the following note:
Now that the original Ghostbusters are back on the big screen (after forty years and a failed reboot attempt) it’s time to revisit the classic movie that started it all. The original Ghostbusters definitely raises some questions. Like why didn’t the guys take their ghostly evidence somewhere else instead of starting a ghostbusting business? Why did they get a secretary before having any clients? Whatever happened to that library ghost? To answer all these questions, check out the pitch meeting that led to Ghostbusters!
