French Montana Slammed For Cozying Up To Trump Relative
French Montana has received criticism after getting close to Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump.
Lara is married to Trump’s son Eric and like the rest of the Trump family, has been criticized for her far-right views, particularly over immigration.
The Morocco born French Montana posted a picture of himself in the studio with Trump, who is also the co-chair of the Republican National Committee.
He captioned the post: “Look who came to check me at the studio @laraleatrump she love her some MONTANA [love hands emoji].”
Montana also posted a video of them in the studio, where Trump flashed a peace sign and looked at home.
He was immediately hit with a swift backlash for cozying up to Trump, particularly given he is a practicing Muslim and the former president infamously called for a total ban on those who follow the Islamic faith from entering America.
One commenter said: “Project 2025 literally says they want to ban Muslims and send all the immigrants back to their homeland, so good luck with that lol.”
Hot 97’s Laura Stylez commented: “SMH.”
Her radio colleague Ebro also weighed in, writing: “Working on a pardon eh?”
French’s move comes shortly after he associated with another far right figure in accused rapist and online influencer Andrew Tate.
The “Unforgettable” rapper brought out Tate during a recent festival appearance in Romania and said: “Romania loves you, my brother.”
The Bronx rapper then dedicated a song to Tate, who later called on those watching the show to chant, “Escape the matrix” in an attempt set a new world record.
“First rapper to do a stream with top G and the first to bring Top G out on stage! ROMANIA WE LOVE YOU. S/O Andrew Tate + Tristan Tate,” French wrote on Instagram alongside footage of the moment.
Tate is currently awaiting trial on human trafficking, rape and forming a gang to sexually exploit women.
He was originally arrested in December 2022 alongside his brother Tristan but both deny any wrongdoing and claim the case is part of a political conspiracy against them.
The brothers are also wanted in the UK over allegations of sexual aggression and will be extradited following the conclusion of legal proceedings in Romania.
