Fate/Hollow Ataraxia Remastered announced for Nintendo Switch
Type Moon has confirmed development of a Fate/Hollow Ataraxia remaster for Switch. The sequel to Fate/Stay Night, like its predecessor, was until now unreleased in the West and is getting a remaster based on its PS Vita version.
The PS Vita version of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia added in full voice acting, two opening cinematics by animation studio Ufotable, and censored some of the mature content from the original PC release.
Fate/Hollow Ataraxia takes place roughly 8 months after the events of Fate/Stay Night and follows Shirou Emiya and Bazett Fraga McRemitz as they find themselves locked in a time loop and search for an end to their endless days. Though it is often considered a sequel, it does not directly follow a particular ending or route from Fate/Stay Night, instead being a mix of different routes and endings and putting a spin on the story of the Fifth Holy Grail War.
No further information on the remaster is available as of now, but readers can, for the time being, view its announcement trailer below.
And, as always, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop as more news about Fate/Hollow Ataraxia Remastered comes our way. Until then, fans of the series can look forward to next week’s Fate/Stay Night Remastered, which polishes up what is widely considered to be one of the most influential and well-received visual novels of all time.
