FAN EXPO HQ and The Kubert School have announced the continuation of a partnership to support emerging artists across North America. The FAN EXPO Creator Academy is designed to deliver hands-on experience and expert instruction from FAN EXPO’s roster of world-class creators. The Kubert School, known globally for providing exceptional education in cartooning and graphic art, will direct the curriculum while the show will host and connect participants with artists.
The Academy will be available in five cities in 2023: MEGACON Orlando (March 30-April 2, 2023), FAN EXPO Philadelphia (June 2-3, 2023), FAN EXPO Boston (August 4-6, 2023), FAN EXPO Chicago (August 10-13, 2023), and FAN EXPO Canada in Toronto (August 24-27, 2023).
Originally launched in 2020, the FAN EXPO Creator Academy will now be a separately ticketed half-day workshop that will take place in advance of each event. The workshop is aimed at aspiring arts professionals looking to develop their portfolios.
The Kubert School will be featured during FAN EXPO events on stage with creator spotlights and panels as well as on the show floor with an interactive skills lab and live learn-to-draw demos. Attendees can also take advantage of The Kubert School’s expertise by visiting their booth for portfolio reviews and one-on-one interviews with educators.

Founded by legendary comic artist and creator, Joe Kubert, The Kubert School offers a curriculum that focuses on all facets of sequential and narrative art to ensure each graduating student will be equipped with “a developed understanding of craft, an enlarged imagination, and the work ethic necessary to be an artist for years to come.”
The school is also hosting a Spring Open House on April 15 for those looking to tour the school, meet the faculty and staff, and even participate in demos.
