3. U.S. border czar to visit Rochester Tuesday in response to Border Patrol traffic stop

His visit follows his public criticism of Rochester City Hall and its sanctuary city policy following a traffic stop last month by the U.S. Border Patrol. RPD Chief David Smith says RPD officers removed and handcuffed some of the people in the vehicle, which city leaders say is against the city’s sanctuary policy.

4. Houthi rebels say alleged U.S. airstrike that hit Yemen prison holding African migrants kills 68

Yemen’s Houthi rebels on Monday alleged a U.S. airstrike hit a prison holding African migrants, killing at least 68 people and wounding 47 others. The U.S. military did not acknowledge carrying out the strike.

5. Conclave to elect new pope will start May 7 as cardinals get to know one another

Catholic cardinals on Monday set May 7 as the start date for the conclave to elect Pope Francis’ successor, delaying the secret voting for two days to help them get to know one another better and find consensus on a candidate before they are sequestered in the Sistine Chapel.
