Erika Jayne Called Out by Singer for Lip Syncing Song

Erika Jayne just got called out for lip-syncing.

Amid her “Bet It All on Blonde” residency in Las Vegas, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, 52, was blasted by 1990s singer Marie-Claire Cremers, known professionally as Amber, who told her fans and followers on Instagram that Erika had pretended to sing her hit single, “This Is Your Night,” during one of her recent shows.

“So…today I was sent this clip here…and just like Karin Kasar from the Real McCoy had the nerve to lip sync to my track and original vocals, when she was on the road with them and act like it was all her, so does this one apparently,” Amber began on December 19, along with a clip of Erika on stage in a flashy red ensemble and heels.

Continuing on, Amber told her online audience that she initially thought Erika was a “drag queen.”

“You know…where men dress up as women and give a dramatic lip sync and people know and understand it as a clear art form and not being the actual real artist of the song,” she explained. “I can respect that, as I see that as an appreciation for the artist from the LGBTQIA+ community.”

After looking into the matter, however, Amber, who is not a fan of the Real Housewives franchise, learned Erika was part of the RHOBH cast.

From there, Amber took aim at Erika’s performance, wondering why a so-called artist would not only be lip-syncing, but lip-syncing to someone else’s music.

“I was told that she supposedly also is a singer with her own dance records….ok… so then let me ask you this: Why are you not taking out a mechanical license and just set up a little produced track yourself and add YOUR OWN vocals on it and then lip sync the hell out of it (if you must lip sync, otherwise go live, girl!) without having to act like my vocals are all yours,” Amber stated. “Never, in a million years, as a self-proclaimed performing artist, would I even come up with the thought of lip-syncing to a track and a vocal of another artist (on a paid show on top), unless that is all I do and all people know me clearly for, as a drag queen.”

Also with her post, Amber further poked fun at Erika by stating, via hashtag, that she was “the original” artist of the song and encouraging her fans and followers not to “be like Erika Jayne” because “authenticity matters.”

Singer Calls Out RHOBH Erika Jayne for Lip Syncing Her Song

Meanwhile, in the comments section of her post, Amber reacted to someone who suggested Erika was singing “This is Your Night” as a tribute to her.

“Did you ever consider that maybe she’s honoring your music because she grew up loving it?” they asked. “It was a short verse, not the whole song. As you can hear, pump up the jam and another song was part of the compilation. I don’t think she’s trying to rip off your song and most people know she’s not the original singer.”

“This is not a tribute… she is not singing it…if she were, THAT would be a tribute,” Amber replied. “A proper cover version would be a tribute with her own vocals. How odd would it be for me to take a mic and go on stage and lip sync ‘I will always love you’ from Whitney? Do you not get that? If you are a recording artist yourself…this is a no- go! She gets paid for it.”

Amber Denies Erika Jayne Tribute

Then, after an Instagram user said Erika performed the same song during the 2017 L.A. Pride convention, Amber confirmed she was aware.

“She has been banking on that for a while now… She tried speeding it up a tad in the hopes to make it a bit pitcher.. but it is still my voice she is faking to be hers,” Amber clarified.
