After 15 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, defensive end Brandon Graham has officially announced his retirement. The 36-year-old made the announcement during a press conference, reflecting on his career and expressing gratitude for his time with the team. During his farewell speech, he emphasized that he had “no regrets,” stating that he gave everything to the game. The NFL player added, “I could not be happier with the way my career played out, the love I’ve gotten, and the success the Eagles have had as an organization.” (via ESPN)
Graham was selected 13th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft out of Michigan and remained with the Eagles for his entire career. He holds the franchise record for most regular-season games played (206) and ranks third in all-time sacks (76.5). His contributions helped lead the Eagles to two Super Bowl victories.
One of the memorable moments of Graham’s career came in Super Bowl LII against the New England Patriots. With the Eagles leading 38-33 in the final minutes, he strip-sacked Tom Brady, securing a 41-33 victory and the franchise’s first Super Bowl win. Talking about the play, he said, “That’s always going to be a good one. A Michigan guy against another Michigan guy. It was a big moment in my career.” In his final season, Graham overcame a triceps injury to return in time for Super Bowl LIX. The Eagles claimed another championship by defeating the Kansas City Chiefs.
Graham’s contributions were recognized with a Second-team All-Pro selection in 2016 and a Pro Bowl appearance in 2020. Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said, “Brandon Graham is the embodiment of everything you want in a Philadelphia Eagle.”
