Dynamite announces THE GREEN HORNET and MISS FURY cross paths with Alex Segura!

Dynamite is excited to announce a new series bringing The Green Hornet and Miss Fury together for the first time this November! Writers Alex Segura (Star Wars, Secret Identity), Henry Barajas (Helm Greycastle, Batman: Urban Legends), and artist Federico Sorressa will be heading this brand new series!

The story follows When Marla Drake (Miss Fury) and Britt Reid (The Green Hornet) meet, their contrasting crime-fighting styles clash. Despite their differences, they discover they share a mentor, the mysterious Silver Shrike, who has recently died. To solve his murder, Miss Fury and The Green Hornet must work together, uncovering a deeper conspiracy that threatens all vigilantes. As they dig deeper, they must overcome their conflicting methods and team up with Green Hornet’s partner, Kato, to unravel the truth before the threat targets them as well.

Segura says:

I have a soft spot for two things – writing pulp heroes I grew up reading as a kid, and working with my friends, So when Dynamite approached me to take this series on, I instantly knew who I wanted to pair with.

Henry and I have been brainstorming Green Hornet ideas for a while now, and this felt like the perfect springboard to not only spotlight the iconic hero, but put him up against one of the true classic heroines of comics, Miss Fury.

Fleshing out her backstory and watching these two icons play off each other has been a treat – these characters almost write themselves. Add in the detailed, cinematic art Federico brings to every page and the end result is sure to be a fun ride for longtime fans of Green Hornet and Miss Fury – or folks looking for a fun, Bronze Age-style romp.

This isn’t meant to be a reimagining, The Green Hornet / Miss Fury is set in the middle of the swinging sixties! Using the charm of the Hornet’s TV era and adding a coat of neo-noir. Both characters can be dared back to the 1930’s and 40’s with many eras for their adventures. The Green Hornet has a rich history spanning radio, films, television, and comics, with a nearly 15-year legacy at Dynamite and Miss Fury, created by June Tarpé Mills, is notable as the first female superhero created by a woman.

Barajas adds:

Green Hornet and Miss Fury are two of the most iconic pulp capes ever. I grew up pouring through the early Harvey Comics stories, listening to the radio shows, and watching the 1966 TV show starring Bruce Lee as Kato.

This is undoubtedly a love letter to the Golden Age of comics while stinging the fans leaving them asking for more.
