Things are moving (very) slowly, but surely, toward the Community series follow-up, Community: The Movie. Just last week, star Donald Glover revealed that the script is finished, and with that said, Glover has now given us just a taste of what the story will be about. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter to promote his upcoming Mr. and Mrs. Smith series coming to Amazon, Glover teased some new details on the upcoming Community movie story, saying:
“Yeah, [Dan Harmon] told me what he wanted, and I was like, ‘This sounds great.’ It’s a college reunion, but Abed [Danny Pudi’s character] is like this big director now, and basically this is his magnum opus. I’m like, ‘This sounds fucking tight.’”
It’s not a ton of info, but it’s a fun bit to go on! And it does make sense. I think they will be able to make a fun movie out of this, and it will be great to see the old gang back together again.
Glover will be joined in the film by returning co-stars Joel McHale as Jeff Winger, Danny Pudi as Abed Nadir; Alison Brie as Annie Edison; Gillian Jacobs as Britta Perry; Jim Rash as Dean Pelton; and Ken Jeong as Ben Chang. We still don’t know for sure if Yvette Nicole Brown will return. Keith David is also expected to reprise his role as Elroy Patashnik.
