Dodge County student hit by car, airlifted to hospital, police say in report

They say the accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

EASTMAN, Ga. — A student was hit by a car in front of Dodge County High School, according to a report from Eastman Police Chief Billy Cooper. 

Cooper says a middle school student was walking from the Dodge County Middle School to the high school, when he was struck by a car around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The student was then taken by ambulance to a helipad, where he was airlifted to a Dodge County hospital, per the report. Cooper said there were other students at the scene at the time of the collision, but they are unharmed.

Cooper said that the student was alive and in stable condition, as of 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. There is no information about the driver yet, per his report.
