At the beginning of the month, Bleeding Cool tried to put all the clues together regarding just who the mysterious Doctor Hate figure is in current DC Comics. A sorcerer and agent of the Lords of Chaos working with Amanda Waller and the Council of Light. first revealed at the end of the Knight Terrors event. Using the Nightmare Stone and the Helmet of Hate to further the cause of Chaos in exchange for assistance in Waller’s schemes.
We noted that Beast Boy recognized Doctor Hate without their helmet. And we did some speculation. Hate. The opposite of love. And something that seems very personal to the Teen Titans. Beast World emphasised the love between Beast Boy and Raven, something underlined as personal motivation for much of Raven’s actions against Amanda Waller.
We asked if Doctor Hate was the opposite of Raven, despite knowing her so well. Someone set free by the Nightmare Stone and defined by the Helmet Of Hate. And we asked if Doctor Hate could be the demon from within Raven’s soul gem? And looking just like Raven to Beast Boy?
Well, today’s Titans: Beast World #5 from Tom Taylor, Ivas Reis and Danny Miki seems to confirm tour speculation. We also noted when this might have happened, Nightwing #106, also written by Tom Taylor.
Loks like it’s all coming together and still an issue left to go. Let’s see what else we can work out?
