Disney’s Live-Action SNOW WHITE Movie Needs To Make $340 Million to Break Even… Good Luck! — GeekTyrant

There have been reports that Disney Studios has spent $330 million on its live-action adaptation of Snow White, but Forbes has now offered some clarification on that. This latest report says that Disney spent $209.3 million producing the film and that the studio would need to bring in at least $340 million to break even. You have to remember that the studio will spend about $100 million+ in marketing the film as well.

As you know, this Snow White movie has been drowning in controversy. A lot of Disney fans haven’t been happy with the film’s star Rachel Zegler and the comments that she’s made about the movie. One thing she said is that Snow White won’t be “saved by a prince,” who she calls a “stalker.” David Hand, whose father co-directed Walt Disney’s original 1937 movie, finds the remake “insulting” and said that his father and Walt Disney would be “turning in their graves.” Then you’ve got the ridiculous-looking CGI dwarves in the movie. What a terrible decision that is.

I think there is a chance that Snow White could actually break even at the box office due to people’s curiosity. Even if people hate on the movie, they still might go out and watch it just out of curiosity. But, Disney is definitely going to be fighting an uphill battle with it.

The film’s release has been pushed back, and it was said: “Disney had to delay Snow White because they have spent so much money on it, and if it is a financial disaster at the box office, it might singlehandedly cripple future remakes and potential Snow White sequels that they have planned.”

An insider also previously said: “They also have to remove themselves from the bad taste in the mouths of online critics and want to instead deliver a great film and get to a point where they get it right. They realize that they were overthinking things and are now reigning it all in a little bit more.”

The story follows a princess who is rescued by seven dwarf miners, Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy, who make Snow White part of their household after she’s exiled into a dangerous forest by her wicked stepmother, played by Gal Gadot.

Snow White was originally supposed to be released on March 22, 2024, but it was pushed out a full year to March 21, 2025. The movie is directed by Mark Webb (500 Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man).

Do you think this movie is going to break even at the box office?
