DC reveals Fall 2025 children’s graphic novels
DC Comics has begun revealing their children’s graphic novel releases for Fall 2025. The initial line-up consists of six books (and one box set), including a new early reader’s (age 5-7) book starring Superman, Teen Titans, and Nubia sequels, and a book by Pretty Little Liars author Sara Shepard.
Superman’s Good Guy Gang ($12.99), by Rob Justus, releasing July 1, 2025:
Releasing just in time for James Gunn’s Superman (out July 10, 2025), this early reader’s book similarly features a 19-year-old Clark Kent forming a superhero club with Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl and Guy Gardner/Green Lantern. The press release promises this will be the start of a series, that will also see Mr. Terrific (another character appearing in the movie), Batman, and Wonder Woman join the Good Guy Gang. The book marks the DC debut of creator Rob Justus, who was until now best known for the children’s series Death & Sparkles.
Kid Flash: Going Rogue ($12.99), by Steve Foxe and Jerry Gaylord, out September 12, 2025:
A middle-grade book, aimed at readers aged 8-12, starring Ace West/Kid Flash and his uncle, Barry Allen/The Flash. Here, after Kid Flash messes up one time too many, Barry decides to transport him and a group of teenage rogues — Golden Glider, Pied Piper, Trickster, and the Top — to another dimension to teach them responsibility (albeit on their own after Barry’s called away on Justice League business.) This marks Foxe’s first DC comic (although he has written other children’s books with their characters, like The Justice League Saves Christmas!), and Gaylord’s second after last year’s Clark & Lex.
Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade ($12.99), by Landry Q. Walker and Eric Jones, releasing August 5, 2025:
A reissue of Walker and Jones’s 2009 limited series, Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade follows Lindy Lee/Kara Zor-El as she balances middle school with being a superhero, a new foe named Belinda Zee, and more ahead of her graduation. Poignantly, the book’s rerelease will mark nearly three years since the passing of artist Eric Jones, who died aged just 51 on September 10, 2022.
Birds of Prey: The Origins ($16.99) by Sara Shepard and Stephanie Pepper, out November 4, 2025:
This young adult (13+) release reimagines Helena Bertinelli (Huntress), Barbara Gordon (Oracle), Dinah Lance (Black Canary), and Harleen Quinzel (Harley Quinn) as four teens investigating disturbing incidents involving the students of Gotham Prep. The four girls must put aside their differences and work together to solve the mystery before it’s too late. This marks Shepard’s first comic book, while artist Stephanie Pepper previously penciled issues of DC’s RWBY/Justice League, as well as various covers for the company.
Teen Titans: Together ($16.99), by Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo, November 4, 2025:
The culmination of Garcia and Picolo’s young adult series brings together Dick Grayson/Robin, Raven/Rachel Roth, Garfield Logan/Beast Boy, Max Navarro/Soulstorm, Victor Stone/Cyborg, and Damian Wayne as they seek to protect Kori Anders/Starfire from H.I.V.E., and her ruthless sister Kira. “Lines blur as the teens struggle to decide what to do. H.I.V.E. might be their greatest ally… but at what cost? Can the Teen Titans pull together a plan before they fall apart?” It marks the sixth book in Garcia and Picolo’s reimagining of the classic team, which kicked off with Teen Titans: Raven in 2019.
Nubia: Too Real ($16.99) by L.L. McKinney, Robyn Smith, and Manou Azumi, September 2, 2025:
The sequel to McKinney and Smith’s 2021 YA release Nubia: Real One follows the title character as she spends the summer training with the Amazons on Themyscira. “Amid the mounting pressure of expectations, she grapples with feeling like an outsider, letting the weight of her self-doubt strain her most important relationships. Just when she thought her life couldn’t get more complicated, her biggest fear threatens the safety of everyone on Paradise Island. Will Nubia rise above the chaos and embrace her true self as the hero she was destined to be?” Newcomer Manou Azumi previously worked on DC’s Webtoon series Vixen: NYC.
DC Spooky Graphic Novels for Kids Box Set ($39.99), July 1, 2025:
Collects four middle-grade releases: Deadman Tells the Spooky Tales (2022) by Franco Aureliani; Ryan North and Derek Charm‘s The Mystery of the Meanest Teacher: A Johnny Constantine Graphic Novel (2021); Kirk Scroggs‘s We Found a Monster (2021); and Matthew Cody and Yoshi Yoshitani‘s Zatanna and the House of Secrets (2020).
