Actor David Gail, best known for playing Dr Joe Scanlon in Port Charles, a spinoff of hit US soap General Hospital, has died aged 58.
Gail also starred in Beverly Hills, 90210 as Stuart Carson, the fiancé of Shannon Doherty‘s character Brenda Walsh.

His sister Katie Colmenares announced Gail’s passing in an moving Instagram post, which included a photo of the siblings hugging.
“There’s barely been even a day in my life when you were not with me by my side always my wingman always my best friend ready to face anything and anyone w me the bears will never be the same but I will hold you so tight every day in my heart you gorgeous loving amazing fierce human being missing you every second of every day forever there will never be another,” she captioned the post.
A cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Beverly Hills, 90210 fans have paid tribute to Gail, including Peter Ferriero, the host of the Beverly Hills 90210 Show podcast.
“He was filled of life and incredible stories. I am grateful I got to know. I am so saddened for your loss, and the world’s loss. He was a gift to us all,” he commented on Colmenares’ Instagram post.

Ferriero also posted a tribute on his own Instagram account.
“In memory of David Gail. Here are a few stories he shared when he joined the podcast,” he captioned the post which garnered plenty of tributes in the comments section.

“Omg. That’s so sad! I had no idea. Such a great and talented guy. Very sorry to hear this.”

Gail was born in Florida in 1965 and according to his IMDB page had his first screen acting job in an episode of hit sitcom Growing Pains in 1990. He also had guest roles on ER and JAG.
His last acting credit was in 2019 for the video game Blacksad: Under the Skin, for which he performed the voice of Sam.
