DARK MACHINE Web3 game gets anime project

METAX-FZCO, a developer of projects centered around blockchains and the burgeoning Web3 development push has announced that its latest project in DARK MACHINE, a forthcoming blockchain-based videogame will feature an anime adaptation with famed Japanese anime diector Goro Taniguchi, while legendary mechanical designer Hidetaka Tenjin, best known for his work on various Macross and Gundam projects will also be involved as mechanical designer. The anime will be screened during a panel for the project that will be held on Saturday night and details follow below.

METAX describes the game:

Dark Machine is a mech-themed team-based third-person shooter set in a dark future of abundant energy amidst economic turmoil, where players can combine, transform, and enlarge their mechs to overwhelm opposing teams. As the mechs grow bigger, heavier, and more powerful, the grand scale of destruction is unleashed not only towards your opponents but also all structures of the map. Players must efficiently harness these elements to strategically outmaneuver their opponents to emerge victorious!

METAX CEO Takashi Murakoshi elaborated on the genesis of the anime project:

The anime adaptation of Dark Machine is a pivotal moment for us. This project is based on our passion for exploring the new frontier of merging gaming with web3, and we are delighted to deliver this new story to our fans in the new form of anime. Dark Machine will continue to expand as a cross-media project, aiming to convey its charm to an even broader audience. Please look forward to it.

Goro Taniguchi also elaborated on his involvement:

There is no end in the expression of anime. It must constantly seek new things and evolve. I am honored to have the opportunity to merge the potential of gaming with the narrative power of anime as the creative producer for Dark Machine. We are challengers. We aim to bring the efforts of all the staff involved in this project, striving towards the future, to our audience. We hope fans will thoroughly enjoy the world of Dark Machine.

Finally, Hidetaka Tenjin detailed his involvement in the new project:

I am very pleased to be part of this project as a mechanical designer. We have meticulously paid attention to detail in the mechanical design, pursuing both realism and impact. We hope viewers will immerse themselves in the world of Dark Machine through the intricate designs and dynamic movements.
