Daniel Craig To Star in DC Studios’ SGT. ROCK Movie For Director Luca Guadagnino — GeekTyrant
It looks like Daniel Craig will be teaming back up with director Luca Guadagnino for the DC Studios film Sgt. Rock. The two recently worked together on the upcoming film Queer.
Sgt. Rock is being set up as Guadagnino’s next film project with a the script for the film written by Challengers and Queer scribe Justin Kuritzkes.
Craig will take on the title role of the film, Sgt. Franklin “Frank” Rock, who was created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert and he’s primarily known for his leadership role in the World War II-themed comic series Our Army at War, which was later retitled Sgt. Rock.
The character first appeared in 1959 and is a tough, no-nonsense infantry soldier who leads Easy Company, a group of battle-hardened soldiers in the European Theater of World War II.
Rock is characterized by his unwavering sense of duty, badass combat skills, and strong loyalty to his men, often serving as both a father figure and a protector.
His stories are gritty and grounded, focusing on the brutal realities of war, the camaraderie among soldiers, and the personal cost of battle, making him one of DC’s iconic military heroes.
As a fan of the character, I would love for this movie to turn out awesome, and I think Craig could be awesome in the role.
What do you think about Craig taking on the role of Sgt. Rock?
