This is one of various planning applications submitted to Croydon Council for the week beginning June 24.
There were more than 20 applications made to the council between Monday, June 24 and Sunday, June 28 – but here is a round-up of the four most interesting plans.

Collision protection beams for Brighton Road railway bridge
In Coulsdon, there are plans to build two collision protection beams (CPB) either side of Brighton Road railway bridge.
These plans were submitted by Network Rail and aim to reduce train disruption – as the bridge has been hit by several vehicles in the last two years, significantly impacting services on this route between East Croydon and Brighton.

The CPBs would measure around 20m in length and be made of steel tubes filled with grout.
More uses for Interchange office space
The Interchange building in Station Road hopes to use its current office spaces for a mix of office and educational use, as well as expanding the uses for the medical facility on floor 9.
Submitted by Iceni Projects on behalf of CCP5 Interchange, these plans also include changes to the layout of the ground floor – and a new entrance – to “better meets the needs” of the building’s users.
Flat roof extension nearly three metres tall for East Croydon house
In East Croydon, there are plans to build a single-storey flat roof extension out the back of a home in Westbourne Road.
This proposed extension would measure 2.95 metres tall and extend 5.5 metres from the back of the house to make room for a new kitchen/dining area.
Granny annexe for Waddon house
In Waddon, a “granny annexe” could be built at a home in Denning Avenue, consisting of one bedroom and one bathroom.
If approved, the building works for this would start in August and finish in November this year.
Each of the plans will be reviewed by the council before any final decisions are made.
